I ordered one of my own prints- framed, from Society 6 and I must say I am VERY disappointed in their service. First of all, the whole print is DARK and BLUE while my painting is BRIGHT and PURPLE. I know what colors my paintings should look like on paper because I have a calibrated monitor and I regularly order giclee prints of my work. I sincerely hope this is not the standard ‘vibrant image quality’ Society 6 offers.
Secondly, the print was framed TERRIBLY. How could they send a product in a condition like this? Does anyone has a similar experience with Society 6? I absolutely have no clue why this site is so popular at the moment.
Anyway, I’m going to file a complaint and I advice everyone to do the same if you have ordered one of my products and aren’t happy with the quality. I’ll keep everyone updated about this.

Deviantartists underprice themselves badly. Deviantart commission rates from years ago was like $20+ Now it’s like 10cents to a dollar?
Even if it is a hobby, don’t underprice yourself. The old ladies who paint flowers and seagulls in their spare time would not charge $5 for their paintings. Why should you? Seriously.

Old small side table which I gave a new look! The piece was half sanded and there were lots of stains so I decided to paint the whole thing. I added gold paint to the edges (which was a pain in the ass to do properly). I’m happy with the result!

I’m using the empty apartment above us as my workspace until the renovation. I took on a project I wanted to do for a while and this was the perfect opportunity. I’m staining a cabinet I already had in my interior. This is what I’m aiming for. I found the perfect fabric for behind the glass, but unfortunately it’ll take a month before I can get my hands on it!

… To be continued

Happy New Year!

In an hour it will be 2013 here in the Netherlands, and I am wishing everyone a happy new year! Here’s a list of my new year’s resolutions:

  • Move to a bigger place (preferably with a garden)
  • Make more than 10 personal paintings
  • Paint the cover for my artbook
  • Adopt a cat (my boyfriend has overcome his allergy yay!)
  • Work from 9am to 5pm, 4-5 days a week (I’m not very disciplined)
  • Go to bed before 12 ‘o clock
  • Have an exhibition with my work
  • Make a traditional painting/drawing
  • Make a painting with more people in it
  • Work on my relationship
  • Stay positive and ENJOY life!

May 2013 bring much joy and fulfillment to everybody!
